First a giallo Halloween [All The Colour of the Dark mega project – remember that? Feels like years ago already] and now a Giallo Xmas [Cloak & Dagger, an Apocalypse Confidential special], both projects afflicted with my trashy shit. Semi-trashy. Plus more refined pieces from Matthew Kinlin and St Nick and others I’m not familiar with but will be from this point on.
Obviously some of the images I’m posting below are images from the project that have been mutilated by me, and five others which are just giallo film posters with extracts stamped on top [lines from my piece, Post-Giallo, as well as Matt Kinlin’s, St Nick’s, Kelby Losack’s, and an essay on ‘Deep Red’ by Donovan Reyes]. You should go check the originals/full images + stories + poems over at Apocalypse Confidential.
Also, thanks to Nick Greer for prodding me into this and Sergio Martino for being my Italian granddad.
At some point I’ll likely do a full read through and either make a video or a de-con-struc that says a lot and explains very little. Might even look at my own story, if it’s not too incestuous to do that. I don’t think it is. How else will people know about the dark double theme I kind of explore? The way the main character looks in the mirror and closes 1 eye, so both eyes are open and both eyes are closed at the same time, with both faces only half aware of the other…wife as actual hologram or actualised hologram…camp axe vs scalpel death symbolism etc etc ETC etc.
