I won’t lie and say I watched all of The Jar.
I watched the first 12 minutes.
Then got bored.
Filled in the rest by watching the redlettermedia Botw vid.
Nice light effect in the car though, like two floating heads in Fulci town.
Acting was awful.
Edit: dialogue was awful, acting was poor, in the opening 12 minutes. Never take a pensioner back to your place after a car accident in the centre of a black hole.
Please god, someone drag me away from the white on black-ground pieces. Ever since X( )-id </3 it’s all I’ve done. Not sure how to stop, not sure I want to. My next novella Xxun is white on black-ground and mesmerising.
I feel no shame in using another old story I wrote for [and got rejected by] a fake movie review anthology contest run by a small horror/fantasy press trying to stand out from the mainstream horror/fantasy presses by publishing the exact same thing. Petty to say that? Yeah, probably. I find myself pinballing between petty, depressed, pettier and am I in fact delusional recently [luckily, I had The Jar to stabilise me]. The story I subbed was called Salt Meniminist. I renovated it to look like a response to The Jar, which it wasn’t. But, in a weird way, could be. Things sometimes work out that way with abstract experimentalism.
Some of the pics are taken from Serial Experiments Lain, a Japanese anime from the Id of big pharma [not really].
[Note: I checked and it was 11 minutes 13 seconds of The Jar that I watched].
